Celebrate 75 years of I Love Lucy with a one-day trip full of laughter and nostalgia! Visit the Lucy-Desi Museum to explore Lucille Ball’s life through recreated sets, costumes, props, and iconic memorabilia. Enjoy a themed lunch at the Tropicana Club with I Love Lucy episodes playing, followed by a guided tour of Lucy’s hometown featuring murals, statues, and historic sites. The day wraps up at the award-winning National Comedy Center before returning to the Community Center.

6/5/26 - HARTVILLE, OH: MARKETS & LUNCH
 
Enjoy a day of shopping, dining, and exploring at Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market. Browse the indoor market with over 100 unique shops and Ohio’s largest open-air flea market during peak season. We’ll enjoy lunch at the famous Hartville Kitchen Restaurant, including your choice of entrée, sides, dessert, and beverage. Afterward, explore Hartville Hardware—America’s Largest Hardware Store—featuring everything from home goods and clothing to grills, tractors, and even a house and barn inside!

6/18/26 - RIDE THE RAILS! DAY TRIP IN FROSTBURG
 
Enjoy a day of history, scenery, and fun in the Allegheny Mountains. Start at the C&O Canal Museum in Cumberland, then ride the scenic Frostburg Flyer train through mountain valleys, tunnels, and famous curves. After lunch in Frostburg, experience a guided rail bike ride along the tracks—mostly downhill, gentle, and senior-friendly—featuring beautiful views before returning to the Community Center.

7/16/26 - CANAL BOAT & ROSCOE VILLAGE
 
Step back in time with a day along the Ohio & Erie Canal. Enjoy a private horse-drawn canal boat ride in Coshocton, complete with stories of 1800s canal life. Then travel to Historic Roscoe Village for a sit-down lunch and time to explore this charming canal town, featuring historic buildings, artisan shops, and hands-on exhibits.

8/27/26 - BLENNERHASSETT ISLAND
 
We are headed to Parkersburg, WV where we will visit the Blennerhassett Museum. Attendees will take a ferry ride to the island, go on a guided tour at the Blennerhassett Mansion, take a horse drawn carriage ride around the island, and have a boxed lunch at the park.

9/18/26 - AMISH LIFE & COMEDY SHOW
 
Experience a full day in Amish Country, Holmes County, Ohio. Enjoy a guided tour of an Amish farm and barn, a scenic ride in an authentic Amish buggy, and a hot buffet lunch at Berlin Farmstead. The afternoon features the Macho Mule variety show at Amish Country Theater, packed with comedy and entertainment, followed by stops at local favorites including Heini’s Cheese Chalet, Kauffman’s Bakery, and Walnut Creek Cheese before returning to the Community Center.

10/02/26 - TRAIN RIDE & APPLEFEST
 
Travel north for a day of history, scenery, and fall fun. Visit Drake Well Museum, the birthplace of the petroleum industry, followed by a 90-minute scenic train ride on the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad to enjoy beautiful autumn views. The day wraps up in Franklin, PA at Applefest, featuring free entertainment, hundreds of vendors, and time to explore and enjoy lunch on your own.

10/15/26 - TRAIN TO HORSESHOE CURVE
 
Rise and ride for a day of rail history and scenic views. Travel by Amtrak from Johnstown to Altoona, slowing at the iconic Horseshoe Curve for unforgettable views. Visit the Railroaders Memorial Museum, enjoy a buffet lunch at Prime Sirloin, and explore the Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark up close. A sweet stop at the Boyer Candy Store wraps up the day before returning home.

Cancellation Policy:
-Chartiers Township Parks & Recreation is happy to transfer your ticket to another person of your choosing at no cost.
-If you choose to cancel and would like Chartiers Township to find a replacement for your seat, a full refund will be issued only if a paid replacement is secured. Please note: if the requested cancellation occurs within 10 days of the trip, a 10% last-minute replacement fee will be deducted from your refund, if a paid repalcement is found, to cover the additional staff time and coordination required.

Acknowledgment: By registering and submitting your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all the terms above. You release Chartiers Township and its affiliates from any liability related to this trip.
 

Bus Trip Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I register for a trip?
A: You can register online, in person with Angela O'Connor (by appointment), or by phone at 724-485-2126.
 
Q: Can I make a deposit instead of paying in full?
A: Yes. All trips require a $50 deposit to reserve your spot. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the trip. 
 
Q: Where does the bus leave from?
A: All trips depart from the Chartiers Township Community Center, 2013 Community Center Drive, Houston, PA 15342.
 
Q: Do I have to be a Chartiers Township resident to attend?
A: No. Our trips are open to the public.
 
Q: What type of bus do you use?
A: All trips travel on a 54-passenger motorcoach equipped with a restroom.
 
Q: Are seats assigned?
A: No. Seating is first come, first served and the bus is loaded in order of arrival. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend arriving early to secure a seat near the front and planning accordingly with Dramamine, Sea-Band wristbands, or similar products. 

Q: Can I save seats for friends?
A: No. There is no seat saving. Friends must arrive early to choose their own seats.
 
Q: Can I bring a walker if needed?
A: Yes. The driver can store it under the bus. Please note that many of our trips involve a significant amount of walking.
 
Q: Is driver gratuity included in the trip cost?
A: No. Gratuity is not included and may be given at your discretion.
 
Q: How early should I arrive before departure?
A: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure. Boarding is done in order of arrival.
